Where Do Our Puppies Come From?
Pets are Family, and We Care Wholeheartedly
“Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way.”
Only Ethically Bred Puppies
Each and every Dawgs & Co puppy is loved by us and cared for like our own pet. We understand that pets are cherished members of your family, and we strive to provide the highest level of care and attention.
We love playing with them, learning about their unique personalities and finding out which toys are their favourite. We then pass on these intimate information to our customers so they have a better gauge of the pup they are choosing. We are also passionate about the breeds we bring in and are more than happy to provide guidance to our customers.
Your pet's happiness and quality of life are our top priorities, and we are dedicated to fostering a long-lasting and fulfilling relationship between you and your beloved companion!
We work closely with our breeders, who are never part of puppy mills
We evaluate (and interrogate!) our breeders to ensure they share our values. All our breeders fulfil these requirements:
Prioritising the health and welfare of their dogs
Having ethical standards and complying with relevant animal welfare laws and regulation
Do not support/engage in activities that promote the illegal pet trade, mistreatment of animals, or unethical breeding practices
All dogs have clean and spacious living areas, access to proper nutrition and fresh water, and regular exercise and socialization opportunities
Mums and dads are of appropriate breeding age
They give maximum consideration for the genetic health of the animals.
Similarly, they are assured that through us, their puppies are placed in loving and responsible homes!
Embracing Excellence: Quality over Quantity
At Dawgs & Co, we focus on the quality of our puppies. We pay attention to detail, and are focused on delivering exceptionality. We are familiar with the breed standards for the each dog breed we bring in and make sure our pups outline the ideal characteristics, temperament, and physical traits that define the breed.
Our puppies grow up with good socialization, friendliness, and responsiveness to human interaction. We also provide a well-documented pedigree and clear lineage for our pure-bred dogs.
We also make sure they have a healthy weight, shiny coat, clear eyes, and clean ears, good dental health, and proper structure before we pass them to their new homes to minimise the chances of health issues.
At Dawgs & Co., we are committed to providing our customers with healthy, happy, and well-cared-for puppies
We understand the concerns surrounding puppy mills and the importance of ethical sourcing when it comes to bringing a new furry family member into your home. In this article, we'll share our approach to sourcing puppies responsibly, ensuring that none of our puppies come from puppy mills.
Only Ethically Bred Puppies
The Puppy Mill Problem:
Puppy mills are large-scale commercial breeding facilities where dogs are often kept in deplorable conditions with minimal care and attention to their well-being. Puppies born in these mills often suffer from health issues due to inadequate care and breeding practices. These facilities prioritize profit over the welfare of the animals.
Our Commitment to Ethical Sourcing:
At Dawgs&Co, we strongly oppose puppy mills and their unethical practices. We believe in giving every dog the love, care, and respect they deserve. Our commitment to ethical sourcing is unwavering, and here's how we ensure that our puppies do not come from puppy mills:
1. Selecting Reputable Breeders:
We work exclusively with reputable breeders who share our values and commitment to responsible breeding practices. Our breeders prioritize the health, well-being, and socialization of their dogs, ensuring that puppies are raised in a loving and nurturing environment.
2. Visiting Breeder Facilities:
We personally visit the facilities of the breeders we collaborate with. This allows us to inspect living conditions, meet the parent dogs, and ensure that all dogs, including breeding dogs, are well-cared for, healthy, and happy.
3. Health Checks and Documentation:
Every puppy that comes to our shop undergoes a thorough health examination by a licensed veterinarian. We provide our customers with complete health records, including vaccinations and microchipping information, to ensure full transparency.
4. Transparency and Education:
We are committed to educating our customers about the importance of responsible sourcing. We encourage questions and provide information about our breeders, their practices, and our commitment to ethical sourcing.
5. Adoption and Rescue Initiatives:
In addition to selling puppies, we actively promote dog adoption and support local rescue organizations. We believe in giving shelter dogs a second chance and encourage our customers to consider adoption as a humane and responsible choice.
